They met on New Year’s Eve — the kind of night where everyone is a little louder, a little lighter, and no one expects to remember it come February. Tiju and Alisha didn’t meet thinking it was the beginning of anything. A night like that rarely announces itself as life-changing. It just happens, quietly, between the noise.

Before the vows, before the beach, before all of it — there was the haldi. Held at the Flamingo Boutique Resort in Alapuzha, one of those Kerala heritage properties that feels like it was built to hold exactly this kind of moment. Old walls, lush green, the quiet hum of backwater air. The kind of place that makes turmeric look like it belongs on a canvas.

That was the setting Tiju had always imagined. That was what Alisha gave him. They didn’t just exchange rings. They exchanged vows. They exchanged hearts. And the sea bore witness to all of it.
