She flew 9,000 kilometres to come home.

Anju lives in Sydney. The kind of life that looks complete from the outside — a city that glitters, a hemisphere away from Kerala. But home has a way of calling you back. And when it calls with the right person waiting, there is no distance long enough to give you pause.

Aravind and Anju chose Varkala Cliff. Not a ballroom, not a banquet. A cliff above the Arabian Sea, at the hour when the sky turns everything golden and the world below gets very, very quiet. Two different faiths, one shared certainty — and the kind of decision that doesn’t need explaining to anyone who has ever been in love like this.

Interfaith weddings ask something of people. They ask families to hold their traditions lightly enough to make room for someone else’s. They ask couples to be brave enough to write their own version of a ceremony — one that honours both, excludes neither, and belongs completely to them.Aravind and Anju chose an English wedding — a shortened, intimate ceremony that cut straight to the heart of what it is. No excess of ritual, no performance. Just words that meant something, exchanged in a place that meant everything, with the cliff and the sea and the evening light as their only backdrop.There is a particular kind of courage in simplicity. In saying: this is enough. We are enough. This evening, this place, these words — enough.
