Kerala · The Groom

God’s Own Country
Dehradun · The Bride
Saumya
Valley of Doons
Temple Tree Leisure · Bangalore · A Two-States Wedding
Two cultures. One friendship. A love story that refused to be ordinary.
~THE BEGINNING
Best friends first. Everything else after.
Before they were anything else, they were friends. The kind you don’t plan — the kind that shows up in college hallways and somehow never leaves. Karunesh from Kerala, Saumya from Dehradun. Two people from opposite ends of the country, finding the same wavelength in the middle of everything.
That’s the thing about long friendships that turn into love — they don’t arrive with fanfare. They arrive quietly, after years of knowing each other’s worst moods, best jokes, and everything in between. By the time they admitted what it was, they already knew everything that mattered.
A Kerala boy and a Dehradun girl — who decided that love doesn’t need borders, but it does need a very long friendship first.

~THE CELEBRATIONS
Two days. Two cultures. One family.
Day 01
Pre-Wedding · All Cultures Welcome
Haldi, Mehndi & Sangeet
The kind of day that doesn’t follow a script. Haldi with laughter and colour, mehndi with stories and sitting still (almost), and a sangeet that reminded everyone why these two were always meant to be together. Two families meeting each other — and discovering they actually liked what they found.
Day 02
Morning Ceremony · Kerala Hindu Tradition
Kerala Style Hindu Wedding
Morning light. Flowers. The ancient rhythm of a Kerala Hindu ceremony at Temple Tree Leisure — with rituals that carry centuries of meaning and a groom who wore his culture with pride. For Saumya’s family from Dehradun, this was a window into something new. They watched with open hearts.
Day 02
Evening Ceremony · North Indian Tradition
North Indian Wedding with Baraat & Poojas
By evening, the energy shifted. The baraat arrived with all the music and movement that North Indian weddings are famous for — and Karunesh stepped into it with everything he had. Poojas, rituals, blessings from both sides. Kerala met Dehradun. And both families danced.

The couple everyone knew was inevitable.
Ask anyone at this wedding — a sibling, a college friend, a parent who once had doubts — and they’ll tell you the same thing. These two just make sense. They finish each other’s sentences. They compliment each other whenever they’re in the same room, in that slightly-too-enthusiastic way that makes everyone around them roll their eyes with a smile.
Yes, they’re that couple. The cringe couple. The one everyone secretly wants to be. The one where you watch them together for five minutes and think — of course. Obviously. It was always going to be them.

“They know each other too well. That’s exactly what made every photograph real.”
